Information about Me
Mrs. Misty Grubbs
I graduated from LCHS in 2007. I went to William Carey and earned my B.S in Mathematics with secondary education and my Masters in Education in Mathematics by 2011. My first four years teaching was mostly 8th grade math and some 7th grade math at Tylertown High School from 2010-2014. In August of 2014, I came back home to Lawrence County High School and teach math in one of the rooms I had math classes in years ago. I have taught algebra 1, algebra 1 advanced, foundations, geometry, algebra 2, essentials to college math, ccr math, and dual enrollment college algebra. I currently teach algebra 1 advanced, algebra 1, and dual enrollment college algebra this school year. I am married for going on 10 years in October to Cory Grubbs, who most of you may see around the school district. He is one of the technology workers for our school district. We are not blessed with children of our own, but we do have a dog, Molly. She is going on 10 years old , for we got her as a small puppy about 10 years ago when my husband was going through chemo treatments. We are very glad he has been in remission ever since. We also have several nieces and nephews who we love dearly. We also have a cat named BoBo who we inherited, and he is set in his ways and is 16 years old. I love to teach math and tutor to help to try to get a student to understand the concepts better. I am the sponsor of the LCHS Beta Club, math department head, and help with Mu Alpha Theta/ Make a Wish. We are members of Bethel Baptist Church in Monticello.
We will continue to use Canvas and Microsoft Teams each day. We will all navigate, help others, and get through this together. Your ultimate goal as a student is to be college or career ready and graduate from high school. I strive to be the teacher you will remember for helping you gain a better understanding in math and encouraging you in everyday life.
