Lawrence County High School- Purpose. Progress. Excellence.

Lawrence County High School (LCHS) is committed to preparing students for success in college, careers, and life. Located in Monticello, Mississippi, LCHS serves as the sole high school for the Lawrence County School District and proudly represents a tradition of excellence, resilience, and community pride established in 1987.

At LCHS, we believe education is purposeful and transformative. Our academic programs are designed to challenge students intellectually while supporting their individual growth and aspirations. We offer a comprehensive curriculum that includes rigorous core instruction, advanced and dual-credit opportunities, career and technical education pathways, and robust intervention supports to ensure every student has access to success.

Beyond academics, Lawrence County High School is a place where students are encouraged to discover their talents, develop leadership skills, and contribute positively to their school and community. Our extracurricular programs—including athletics, fine arts, clubs, and service organizations—play a vital role in fostering teamwork, discipline, creativity, and school spirit. The Cougar mascot represents the pride, strength, and determination that define our students and staff.

Our faculty and staff are dedicated professionals who work collaboratively to maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment. We emphasize high expectations, accountability, and strong relationships, understanding that student success is best achieved when families, educators, and the community work together.

Guided by the values of purpose, progress, and excellence, Lawrence County High School remains focused on continuous improvement and student-centered leadership. We are proud of our past, confident in our present, and committed to building a future where every Cougar is prepared to thrive.
